Cowboys Fans Think They’re Beating the Eagles This Year? Bless Their Hearts. Blog 12 (Frank)

It’s May, which means two things: the NFL Draft is over, and Dallas Cowboys fans are once again convincing themselves that this is the year they take the NFC East crown from the Philadelphia Eagles. It’s cute, really. Like watching a toddler insist they can drive the family SUV because they sat in the front seat once.

Let’s be honest — Cowboys fans operate on a dangerous cocktail of blind optimism, outdated glory, and just enough ESPN coverage to feel relevant. Every season, without fail, they emerge from their man caves and Twitter group chats like Punxsutawney Phil, screaming “Super Bowl!” after watching one OTA highlight of CeeDee Lamb catching a pass in shorts.

Meanwhile, back in the real world, the Eagles are still stacked like a protein shake. Jalen Hurts isn’t just a quarterback; he’s a CEO in cleats. A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith are out here embarrassing defensive backs like it’s a hobby. And Howie Roseman just had another draft so savvy he probably deserves dual citizenship in every war room in the NFL.

What did Dallas do this offseason? They let go of key veterans, lost talent to free agency, and hired Mike Zimmer as defensive coordinator like it’s 2015. Great. Next they’ll bring back Jason Garrett as motivational speaker. It’s all just window dressing on the same old story: good roster, inflated hype, then crash out of the playoffs like a poorly budgeted fireworks show. Sorry if Mike Tomlin who in my mind is a HOF coach let’s go of a player, well then all I have to say is George Pickens is not who you think he is.

And let’s talk about Dak. No shade — he’s solid. But if he’s the guy who’s going to dethrone a fully loaded Eagles squad, then I’m the next Avenger. This isn’t about potential anymore; it’s about performance. And Dallas hasn’t shown up when it matters since flip phones were mainstream.

So while Cowboys fans are Photoshopping Super Bowl rings onto Micah Parsons and drafting 17-0 predictions in Reddit threads, the rest of us are just waiting for reality — and the Eagles pass rush — to come crashing down on them.

Delusion is part of the Dallas identity. We get it. But here’s a tip: maybe try winning the NFC East before printing those parade T-shirts. Until then, Philly runs the block — and they’re not handing over the keys anytime soon.
