Eagles 2-0, my thoughts Blog 35

Ok – was it pretty? No.

I just want everyone to think about a few things. Remember last year it took until after the bye week for this team to start humming and playing as one. Do I have to remind everyone about AJ’s comment last year – “Passing”.

Ok that being said, lets dive into this a little more. Week 1 we had a division rival who wanted nothing more to do than to ruin our banner night. We had “spitgait” and an hour rain delay which took everyone out of the game, fans included.

Yesterday, Eagles go into one of the loudest stadiums; against a team you have played five years in a row; two Superbowls; with the last one being an embarrassment to the Chiefs. You don’t think that defense wanted to redeem itself. You noticed, they blitzed more and played more zone coverage. They were not going to let Hurts scramble and they were not going to allow plays to happen down field.

I’m not saying the Eagles offense doesn’t need improvement, but what I am saying is that they have been down this road before. They will fix it, they have to much talent not to. The players and the coaches will figure this out.

What does excite me however is that the Eagles Defense is well ahead of schedule. You can just see the confidence grow on this team. They are young but they are hungry. Vic Fangio is a special coach and he is going to get these guys to play beyond their limitations. That’s the beauty of a young team, they don’t know any better, they just follow what the vets are doing and what the coaches tell them. They are such a talented bunch and its going to be crazy when they are playing even better in a few weeks.

Look, its been a crazy first two week, but I leave you with this. When people say our offense isn’t right, how come the Giants scored so much against the Cowboys. Well how does D. Henry on the ravens only get 23 yards and fumbles for the second straight week; where has Nico Collins been? Do you think they wont be back to themselves. No, it all straightens out. These guys are elite competitors and demand the most out of themselves. The leadership on this Eagles team is above all and they will get it right!

Remember they are 2-0 trying to tighten things up, not 0-2 trying to figure things out.
