6-2 heading into the bye week. Two weeks from now the Eagles will start their run of prime time games but let’s talk about yesterday.
I don’t think there was one NFL fan that thought the Eagles were going to loose to the Giants yesterday. One thing since the Sirianni era began. This team takes notes and doesn’t like to be embarrassed. They saw how the Giants celebrated two weeks ago and you just knew it was going to be a blow out.
The game was a peek of what this offense can be. Bruiser RB with a home run hitting RB. Yesterday showed us why they traded for Tank Bigsby earlier this season. It’s probably what they wanted to do with AJ Dillon but they saw he was just not the same, yet. Hopefully this running game is going to continue to evolve and become something special.
Not that Barkley isn’t special and last year wasn’t an incredible season for him. Imagine however, having three backs that can break the line and just wear down opponents. Defenses will need to constantly adjust which only helps our passing game.
I’m not going to speak about AJ mess. I don’t know that just seems as a forced story. What I will speak about is how the offense is starting to look much better since Jalen has been playing under center more. Truly can manipulate strategies more from that scheme.
Defensively they just seem to play angrier when Dean is playing. He truly is a leader and gets this defense hyped and focused. Since he has returned from IR, the team swarms to the ball. The Eagles had 5 sacks yesterday with no edge stars. I feel they are coming into their own. Hunt had gotten better, Uche as well, and Campbell at the edge is putting pressure on the QB and helping our D-line. Going to be interesting to see how the edge set by BG is going to help the young guns get to the QB.
All in all the past two games are encouraging and you can see that the collective group is figuring things out, learning from past mistakes, and opening up creative packages to the strength of our players.
Enjoy the bye week everyone….
