Scapegoat or not. The man’s offense was just too generic and lacked innovation. Many former coaches and experts showed how bad the Philadelphia Eagles’ offense was in 2025. The eye test alone supports them, let alone the outcome.
People are saying this makes the job look unattractive to many. I get that. Two left to be head coaches, and Patullo was a matter of circumstances. The Eagles season ended 2.10.25, and most if not all the quality OCs were gone. They chose to stay within, but we all felt a little off by that decision. As we all have mention Sirianni is best when challenged by a different system. Hiring within the same system was a risk of repeating 2023. Unfortunately that’s what happened, not as bad but essentially a lack luster offense.
Then there are those saying it’s the players not the coach. To that I agree to a point. The players are not executing because they are being coached outside of thier strengths. The coach can’t adjust to the players, therefore he tries to force the players to adjust to the offense. The wrong way of doing things is going away from your talents and strengths. A good coach will be creative and design something to allow natural talents to expand.
Now Patullo is gone, and others probably follow. OC wise they have the entire field to interview and find to help them get back to the Super Bowl. Which according to Sirianni pattern will be Superbowl 61.
The Eagles over the past 10 years have been quick to fix a mistake. They don’t want the Chip Kelly era to repeat. They saw how Doug Pederson wasn’t the same after Frank Reich left, and well we basically have the same situation right now.
We need a coach to complement Sirianni but who can challenge him with new wrinkles and extraordinary schemes.
I know we just lost a playoff game, but I am very excited right now. This next move can make the offense a juggernaut. Utilizing Hurts to his talents, using both backs to help each other, and getting a true 3rd WR involved. Essentially going from a Tecmo Bowl offense to a 2026 version of the Madden offense.
I know they can do it and I believe they will.
Go BIRDS!!!
