Hey, I always preach just get the win and we did that. The 7-2 won a hard-fought defensive game. The D-Line played angry and violent and it was awesome to see.
Did anyone notice you didn’t care who was playing CB2 last night? When the D-line is getting that much pressure it just makes life so much easier for the secondary.
However before I get into our offense. When will the nation just admit that Jordan Love is just a regular QB. You take Josh Jacob’s off that team they are an under .500 team. Love just doesn’t know how to be elite. Pressure always gets to him, and besides Love what about GB going for a 4th and 1 out of the shotgun. What???
Alright, I have to give credit to GB Defense, but perhaps being down two lineman didn’t help either but I’m not talking about the play of the players, I’m talking about the play calling in general. It was all over the place. Too conservative in the first half when at 3rd and 2 you didn’t call for a tush push and went 3 and out. Then at 4th and 6 to get first down to win the game you call a bomb that gives GB hope. Too aggressive. Especially when you just threw to incomplete passes which took no time off the clock in the series earlier.
There was no consistency in the offense and that’s was my gripe on the game. The last two games they played well yes, but they were consistent throughout with calling plays. Last night it was all over the place.
Also did you notice the three tightend sets. Throwing to Calcaterra rather than Goedert. Oh and speaking of Goedert if he turns around a split second sooner at the end of the game that’s a catch and a first down. Not only would that have been 2 pts in PPR leagues but it would have ended the game last night saving all that drama in the end.
So, strange game. D looked awesome, Offense was uncharacteristic but the W was earned. Enjoy it and keep it going.
