Don’t look now, but the 2024 #1 ranked Defense in the NFL is starting to come together in 2025. Nakobe Dean said it best last night, they work to get better so they are at thier best in November and December so they can play for February. This team knows what’s at stake and you have to admit, they know how to win.
8 – 2 and with a win in week 12 they should have the division wrapped up soon thereafter. The biggest thing for me was that the Defense just shut EVERYTHING down. The 5 attempts on 4th down. The several 3rd and longs. If you take Gibbs off the Detroit Lions they had nothing last night.
Now the media is saying the Lions were robbed with a pass interference call at the end of the 4th qtr. Come on!!! They were down a touchdown with a minute left to play. If the Eagles didn’t get the first down, they would have punted and Lions would only have a minute at their 30, with no timeouts. Lions were NOT robbed, they were MAULED.
Now offensively it was the same story, but they made the plays when needed. Look Amon Ra St. Brown had 2 catches on 12 targets. The wind had lots to do with that I’m sure. So both offenses were affected by the swirling wind. However what I saw was encouraging, they spread the ball around, but I would like them to have some more slants and some more controlled runs for Hurts.
I’m old school, I remember the Ravens not scoring a TD for over a month, carried by their D and ended up winning the Super Bowl.
Look the offensive woes come down to one thing. The O-line has played 1 game together all season. They are not executing, they are missing assignments, their is no rhythm. They get healthy on the O line 26 will be back, and the O will be so much better.
The Philadelphia Eagles have too much talent, have too much knowledge and experience in the Sirianni era not to get this right.
History just shows that.
Let’s talk about it…
